• Air Pruning: A plant's root system will automatically grow toward the edge of the pot. In a traditional pot made of clay, plastic etc., roots will circle when they hit the edge of the pot looking for air.  They will continue to circle the pot creating a root mass that eventually will choke the plant causing damage or even death.  Fabric Pots eliminate the roots from circling because they provide air through the fabric.  When the roots reach the edge of the Smart Pot they automatically are exposed to the air and the roots will become dehydrated and stop growing.  They will then send out lateral roots making for a healthier root system on your plant.
• No Overwatering: Regular pots allow water to pool at the base of the container and are often the cause of plant death. On the other hand fabric pots are essentially impossible to over water because water is able to drain out on the sides and the bottom.

How to use Smart Pots:

Smart Pots are incredibly easy to use.  Start by removing all tags and open the smart pot up. Straighten the sides before you add the soil or grow medium.  Once you have potted your choice plant in the soil you can bein to water slowly allowing the water to saturate the pot. You can fertilize and water as needed but keep in mind water will drain out of the pot soo keep that in mind when watering.  When using a Smart Pot on the bare ground the Smart Pot will contour to the ground and will establish capillary contact.  When you move your plant, make sure to water it again to reestablish that contact.
